Freightquote worked with us for a shipment from California to Colorado and the product was shipped successfully; we paid the bill and were happy. Then we received another bill for 3 times the cost of the first bill.

The shipping company, according to Freightquote, claimed the size of the package shipped was 112 inches long versus the arranged length of less than 96 inches. According to their claims, by having these additional inches we owed a considerably greater fee. We offered to let them come measure the shipment as it was still intact to verify that it was not the length they claimed; they refused. We sent them detailed documentation of everything included in the shipment.

In the end, they acknowledeged that even if the shipment was less than 96 inches they would not reduce their claim for more money. Accordingly, they threatened to submit the bill to collections and further threatened it would also be delivered to all the credit agencies they work with. It is clearly an attempt at extortion using threats to extort money from us since they found their case is without basis. We have refused to respond positively to such extortion and they have submitted the bill to a collection agency.

Additionally, it seems that Freightquote is actually the company trying to extort the money from us rather than the freight company as the collection agency is representing Freightquote. Anybody doing business with Freightquote should walk away; anyone thinking of doing business with Freightquote should work directly with freight companies for much better results.

Reason of review: Extorting money.

Preferred solution: Acknowledge mistake and cease collection efforts.

Location: Englewood, Colorado

Your experience is exactly what they are trying with me. Their rep, Brandi coordinated a front loader to be moved from New York to Texas.

Three weeks after its arrival I get a bill three times the origin charge. I get the feont loader weighed and confirm original weight. They wont listen and despite having no signed paperwork threaten exactly the same. Collection agency with a 33% uplift or I can take a 15% discount today!

There should be a class action suit brought against them as they have no business being in business. Very poor example of how to operate.

NEVER USE THEM AS IT SEEMS SO PERVASIVE A PRACTICE THEY WILL DO IT TO YOU TOO.

I will not pay the fake charges and expect to get a lot of harassing phone calls soon!

Same thing happened to me. They did send me to collections and I am in that process now.

Had a bad feeling about them so took pictures and documented the shipment.

Will fight this one and add Extortion and Fraud to the countersuit. The reason FQ is handling the collections is that they claim they paid Pilot Freight, on my behalf, for the extra charges.
